KEY BENEFITS
- Necessary in order for the UK to meet its international commitments; Enables the UK to confer privileges and immunities on a number of international organisations and bodies, and on certain categories of individuals connected to them, thus allowing them to work more effectively. The organisations include the Commonwealth Secretariat, the International Criminal Court, the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the European Court of Human Rights, and certain bodies created under the Treaty on European Union; Demonstrates the Government's practical support for international cooperation.

IMPLEMENTATION
- Except for Sections 1 to 3, the Act comes into force two months from the day on which it was passed. Sections 1 to 3 will come into force on a day to be appointed by the Secretary of State, and he may appoint different days for different purposes. An Act to make provision about privileges, immunities and facilities in connection with certain international organisations. Be it enacted by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same.
